Build your walking plan

Use a distance you choose to walk on each active day. This is a planning estimate, not a fitness recommendation.

Which days will you walk?

No sign-up. Your plan is calculated in this browser.

Your next finish line

Choose your distance and walking days, then calculate your plan.

Plans assume the same distance on each selected day, with a shorter final day if needed. You can change your plan whenever life changes. This calculator does not save progress or update an app account.

A plan you can understand

How the walking calculator works

01 / CHOOSE

Start with any distance

Use a personal walking goal, a charity challenge or one of the existing Zelus distances. A 100 km target means 100 km accumulated across your walks, not a single 100 km outing.

02 / MAKE ROOM

Give rest days their place

Select the weekdays you plan to walk. The calendar counts those exact dates, including your start date if it is selected. Unselected days never contribute distance.

03 / WORK IT OUT

Find a finish or set a target

For a finish date, divide the goal by your distance per walking day and round up to whole walking days. For a deadline, divide by the selected dates available and round the daily target up to 0.01 km or mile.

Example: a 100 km walking challenge. At 5 km per walking day, you need 20 walking days. If you start on a Monday and walk Monday to Friday, you finish on the Friday of week four. Walk every day and you finish on day 20 instead.

Choose a virtual challenge distance

You do not need a Zelus challenge to use the planner. If you want one, these distances come from the existing challenge pages. They represent progress inside the app, not navigation or the physical length of a trail.

Questions about your plan

A few details that make the result easier to use.

Can I plan a 100 km challenge over a month?

Yes. Choose “Set my daily distance”, enter 100 km, then set your start date and deadline. Select the days you intend to walk. The result counts the actual selected dates, so it works for different month lengths and rest-day patterns.

What if my deadline falls on a rest day?

The calculator uses the last selected walking day on or before your deadline. The rounded-up daily target can also finish a small goal earlier. Your result shows the calculated finish date, which may be before the deadline you entered.

Can I switch between kilometres and miles?

Yes. Switching units converts your existing goal and daily distance; it does not replace the number with an unrelated target. One mile is 1.609344 kilometres. Calendar dates stay the same apart from very small rounding effects near a full walking-day boundary.

Does this suggest a safe distance or a walking route?

No. You choose the distance. The result is arithmetic, not advice about your fitness, route conditions or access. Zelus challenge distances here are virtual goals. The planner does not generate a physical route or estimate walking time.

What happens if I miss a walking day?

This page does not track completed walks. Make a new plan with the distance you have left, a new start date and the days you expect to walk. You can copy or print that plan for your own reference.

Do I need the app or an account?

No. The calculator works independently and does not ask for an account, email address or location. Exploring Zelus afterwards is optional. Nothing you enter here changes a challenge or progress inside the app.
